The Hinamatsuri on March 3, also known as the "Momo no Sekku" or "Yayoi no Sekku" festival, is a day to pray for the beautiful growth and happiness of girls.

Hinamatsuri was originally one of the five festivals, "Joshi no Sekku". This day was considered a mourning day in ancient China, and people used to cleanse their bodies at the waterside to exorcise evil spirits. It was introduced to Japan around the Heian period, and became an event of ``nagashibina,'' where dirt and paper dolls were removed and washed away in water. .

This became a seasonal festival, and it was not until the Edo period that people began to decorate the hina dolls in rows and decorate them beautifully. However, only samurai and aristocrats celebrated in this way. It was after the Meiji period that this custom became established in ordinary households.

We have inherited the history and traditional techniques of the Nabeshima clan kiln, and we continue to make porcelain hina dolls while carefully handing them down to the next generation.

Craftsmen from Hataman Touen, who have inherited the sophisticated techniques of Imari Nabeshima ware, carefully paint each piece, so there may be slight individual differences in the expression, but you can enjoy the fluctuations of the Hina dolls. is.
