The braided cord pattern is one of the most representative patterns of Nabeshima ware, and has been loved as an auspicious pattern symbolizing matchmaking and bonds.
It is delicately painted in two colors, blue underglaze and red overglaze, and the depiction of the braided cord tassels drawn with intricate dots and lines gives the design a sense of the high level of skill of the potters at the Nabeshima clan kilns, which have been in operation since the Edo period.
This series is popular as a gift for celebrating marriage.
The gourd-shaped sake bottle is also recommended as a sake set with a sake cup.
Nabeshima Style
The aesthetic beauty of Nabeshima ware has been carefully preserved as a traditional rule since the Edo period, and the design is composed of one color of dyeing (blue) and three colors of red painting (red, yellow, green).
The extremely fine and carefully drawn lines are expressed with pale gradations layered over and over again, creating a dignified dignity.
The traditional Nabeshima pattern that was presented as a gift is a gorgeous design that allows you to feel the elegance of ancient Japan.
