[Special Limited Edition]
This is a special limited edition Nabeshima sake cup collection, with only 100 pieces produced each year to coincide with the "Hizen Imari Pottery Festival (Spring Kiln Fair)."
The 2026 limited edition sake cup, "Nabeshima Seigaiha Sanhyo-mon (Three Gourd Pattern with Seigaiha Waves)," features a design representative of the Nabeshima style.
Each cup is individually shaped on a potter's wheel, resulting in a thin and elegant finish. The painting is also meticulously hand-crafted by artisans, expressing the cherry blossom design with delicate touches and colors.
Gourds are considered "auspicious with all three elements (san-hyo-shi, a play on san-hyo, meaning three gourds) aligned," and symbolize warding off disaster and inviting good fortune.
"Seigaiha" refers to a wave pattern that fills the background, and the endlessly spreading waves represent a wish for happiness and peaceful living to continue into eternity.
Nabeshima Style
The aesthetic beauty of Nabeshima ware has been carefully preserved as a traditional rule since the Edo period, and the design is composed of one color of dyeing (blue) and three colors of red painting (red, yellow, green).
The extremely fine and carefully drawn lines are expressed with pale gradations layered over and over again, creating a dignified dignity.
The traditional Nabeshima pattern that was presented as a gift is a gorgeous design that allows you to feel the elegance of ancient Japan.
