What is Sayagata
Saaya-gata is a pattern used on the silk fabric called Saya, which was imported to Japan from the Ming dynasty of China. In Japan, since the Momoyama period, it has been used as a base pattern for dyed fabrics and as a Japanese-style decoration for buildings.
It is also a pattern favored by the imperial family and samurai families due to its neat and dignified atmosphere. It has the meaning of "perpetual longevity" and is a pattern that wishes for the prosperity and longevity of the family.
