Product Option

A glossy plate that expresses the traditional Seigaiha pattern with the sumihiki technique.

Although the shape of the plate looks flat, it has a gentle height difference of about 2mm from the edge to the center, so it is designed so that liquid will accumulate in the center. It is also recommended for dessert plates.

What is Seigaiha?

The Seigaiha pattern is said to have originated in Sassanid Persia (226-651) and was brought to China via the Silk Road, and from China to Japan in the Asuka period.

In addition, it is often used in the Nabeshima style as a repeating pattern, but it also has the meaning of “prosperity of descendants” and “eternal youth and longevity” because the pattern has the meaning of continuing forever.
